Job summary

Farm Job Search is seeking an Experienced Resident Production Manager for a 13-acre CSA farm in Pennsylvania. You will oversee daily agricultural activities and manage a farm crew, including volunteers and interns, while ensuring productive and efficient operations.

The role requires hands-on experience with medium-to-large scale production, equipment and irrigation systems, crop planning, planting, harvest, and post-harvest processing.

CSA Organic Farm Manager (5912)

Experienced Resident Production Manager Position available on 13 acre CSA farm in Pennsylvania. Responsibilities include overseeing and implementing daily agricultural activities at the farm which include operation and maintenance of farm equipment and irrigation systems, managing farm crew (including work traders, volunteers, and interns), crop planning, crop planting, crop maintenance, harvest, and post-harvest processing. Must be creative and efficient, organized and able to balance both production and finance schedules and deadlines. Should have excellent communication skills, a good attitude, and be physically capable of working long days and lifting 40+ lbs. A successful candidate will have experience with medium-to-large scale production, and be able to contribute ideas on how to expand and diversify the operation. This CSA provides product to 150 members and sells at local farmers’ markets, engages in direct-marketing to local chefs and restaurants, and has an on-site certified kitchen with plans to process and market value-added products. Farm utilizes high tunnels and greenhouses with future expansion to enable year-round production. Other projects in the works in on-site kids camp and garden, kitchen events, and collaboration with local schools and institutions. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
