Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is required.
• Advanced studies, professional experience, and/or a master’s degree are preferred.
• Deep knowledge of CS content and ability to convey it clearly to students.
• Expertise coaching students to communicate effectively in speech, on the computer, and on the page.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Computer skills including desktop publishing, Microsoft Office suite, LMS, and online teaching techniques.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design lessons and activities for four CS sections; assignments may vary by year.
• Maintain computer hardware including 3D printers and robotics.
• Explain basic programming concepts (iteration, conditionals, variables).
• Help students articulate their thinking clearly and systematically.
• Be available to students outside class for extra help.
• Design formal and informal assessments to measure progress and mastery.
• Give timely feedback and grades on written work and tests.
• Collaborate with parents and other teachers to support individual learning goals.
• Communicate with students and families about classwork and progress, at least once per semester.
• Use the LMS to keep students informed about responsibilities, grades, and expectations.
• Set high expectations for learning, achievement, and character development.
• Engage in ongoing professional growth per the school’s plan.
