Job summary

Northrop Grumman's SYNOPTICS facility in Charlotte, NC seeks a Production-Process Operations Manager – Level 1 to oversee day-to-day crystal growth manufacturing. You will schedule production, lead technicians and welders, and ensure high-quality crystal output with minimal errors.

You will drive lean initiatives, implement 5S practices, and coordinate training programs for onboarding and safety. This role is 100% onsite with 24/7/365 support considerations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical or business discipline with 2+ years of experience.
• No clearance required and minimum 3 years in manufacturing.
• Ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Strong communication with technicians, engineers and management; proficient with MS Office.
• Willing to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule crystal growth technicians to ensure steady production.
• Drive shift pass-down meetings and monitor multi-day growth runs.
• Maintain 5S/lean manufacturing practices and coach growth personnel.
• Oversee training programs including onboarding and safety training.
• Maintain production supply inventories and Kanban system.
• Support off-hour technicians and communicate with on-call supervisors.
