HELIOS is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cryptology / Cryptologic Warfare Subject Matter Expert to support a mission-critical defense program. This individual will serve in a key technical capacity and provide deep operational expertise in Fleet and Navy Cryptology, associated Information Warfare capabilities, advanced tactical training, readiness assessment, doctrine, and operational integration. The successful candidate will use extensive cryptologic operational experience to support the development and refinement of concepts, doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures, training programs, analytical products, and recommendations for improving mission readiness and operational effectiveness. This position requires a professional who can work independently, collaborate across multiple Information Warfare disciplines, and participate effectively in technical meetings, working groups, conferences, planning sessions, exercises, wargames, and senior‑leader engagements. Position is contingent upon contract award and funding.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a senior technical and operational authority on Fleet and Navy Cryptology and related Information Warfare capabilities.
  • Support the development, validation, standardization, and revision of cryptology‑related concepts of operations, doctrine, and tactics, techniques and procedures.
  • Ensure cryptology‑related doctrine and training products remain aligned with applicable joint and naval strategies, concepts, and doctrine.
  • Conduct mission, capability, operational‑environment, and readiness analyses supporting advanced training and operational requirements.
  • Evaluate cryptology training effectiveness, operational capability, capacity gaps, and readiness shortfalls. - Develop recommendations for systems, training, technical, and process improvements.
  • Support the identification, development, and refinement of unit‑and staff‑level training requirements and readiness‑assessment metrics.
  • Plan, develop, deliver, and assess advanced cryptology training at individual, unit, group, integrated, and joint levels.
  • Support live, virtual, constructive training, exercises, experimentation, and wargaming as required.
  • Integrate cryptology expertise with other Information Warfare disciplines, including Electromagnetic Warfare, Command and Control, Intelligence, Space Operations, Information Operations, Defensive Cyber Operations, and DODIN Operations.
  • Prepare professional briefings, white papers, meeting notes, reports, analytical products, recommendations, and Plans of Action and Milestones.
  • Independently participate in technical meetings, working groups, conferences, planning sessions, exercises, and other operational forums.
  • Present complex cryptologic concepts clearly to technical, operational, and senior‑leader audiences.
  • Comply with all applicable security, Operations Security, privacy, information‑protection, and Government facility requirements.
Required Credentials
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to Federal security‑clearance requirements.
  • Must currently possess fully adjudicated Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information eligibility. TS/SCI eligibility must be current and capable of transferring in status by the first day of work.
  • Interim TS/SCI clearances will not be accepted.
  • Must be able and willing to work full‑time on‑site at a secure Government facility.
  • Must be able to support customer‑established Monday‑through‑Friday core hours.
  • Must be willing to travel periodically in support of mission requirements.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience within the Fleet or Navy Cryptology Information Warfare mission area.
  • Deep operational understanding of Navy cryptologic capabilities, missions, organizations, systems, operational processes, or training requirements.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, revising, or implementing concepts of operations, doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures, operational guidance, or related technical products.
  • Experience supporting advanced training, exercise planning, operational readiness, mission analysis, or capability assessments.
  • Experience identifying capability, capacity, training, system, or process gaps and developing actionable recommendations.
  • Experience preparing professional briefings, white papers, analytical reports, meeting notes, Plans of Action and Milestones, or senior‑leader presentations.
  • Ability to independently participate in technical meetings, working groups, conferences, planning sessions, exercises, and wargames.
  • Ability to integrate cryptologic capabilities with other Information Warfare mission areas.
  • Excellent written communication, verbal communication, analytical, facilitation, and collaboration skills.
Desired Education and Professional Credentials
  • Active work in the Fleet or Navy Cryptology mission area within the last five years.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Intelligence Studies, Cryptologic Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, National Security, or a related discipline.
  • Equivalent military technical education and directly relevant operational experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • Information Warfare Warfare Tactics Instructor designation.
  • Navy Master Training Specialist, Navy instructor qualification, or equivalent training‑development credential.
  • Recognized service‑level cryptologic, signals‑intelligence, evaluator, operator, instructor, or mission qualification.
  • Joint Professional Military Education or Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education.
  • Experience supporting live, virtual, constructive training, Fleet exercises, large‑scale exercises, Maritime Operations Center activities, or operational‑level wargaming.
  • Relevant cybersecurity, network, or information‑assurance certification when directly aligned with the candidate’s operational experience. Such certifications are preferred and are not a baseline requirement for this position.
