We are seeking a Cryptologic Computer Scientist 3 in Maryland.

Role Description

The Cryptologic Computer Scientist will design, develop, and deliver cutting‑edge solutions in a scientific framework. Responsibilities include forensics, attack attribution, critical network protection, and penetration testing. The role requires advanced techniques and tools in operating systems, algorithms, and data structures, and the ability to conduct VHF/RF analysis utilizing Python.

Capabilities

• Design, develop, deliver, and operate solutions to hard cryptologic computer science problems within a scientific framework.
• Solutions may arise in forensics, attack attribution, critical network protection, active system warnings and indicators, active penetration into target systems, knowledge discovery of passive and active systems, or other cryptologic computer science mission support.
• Apply operating systems, compiler theory, database theory, algorithm analysis, computer architecture, discrete mathematics, programming language theory, and data structures to provide state‑of‑the‑art techniques, tools, and approaches.

Qualifications

Clearance Level: TS/SCI with active Poly.

Education

• Doctoral degree plus 4 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Associate’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
• Degree must be in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with at least one programming course and at least four upper‑level math courses (Calculus and above).

Experience

• Relevant experience in a computer science area (theoretical or applied), simulation/model development, designing, developing, evaluating mathematical models, methods, and techniques, algorithm analysis and design, reverse engineering, and/or designing/developing computer and information systems, including hardware and/or software.
