Job summary

Plasma is seeking a cryptographer to design and build verifiable cryptography that shows who authorized an agent, what it was allowed to do, and what it did. You will craft protocols and ship code implementing them, addressing delegation of authority, and persisting agent identities within Plasma's audit trail.

The role blends research and product work: you will review cryptographic protocols across the platform and implement them with attention to side channels and secure deployment practices.

Qualifications

• Graduate training or research in cryptography or equivalent production experience.
• Experience with digital signatures and hash-based structures like Merkle trees.
• Experience shipping cryptographic systems in production using Rust, Go, or C++.

Responsibilities

• Verifiable Audit Trails: design tamper-evident logs for audit checks.
• Delegated Authority: build revocable credentials for limited agent permissions.
• Agent Identity: create persistent identities checked by services.
• Key Management: design generation, storage, rotation, and revocation of keys.
• Review: assess cryptographic protocols and implementations across Plasma.
