Alpaca is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Senior Manager to lead our cryptocurrency accounting operations and support complex accounting matters across the organization. This hands-on role combines ownership of crypto accounting with broader technical accounting responsibilities, audit leadership, and internal controls development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience including public accounting or complex corporate environment.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with month-end close, financial statements, and coordinating external audits.
• Cryptocurrency, digital assets, fintech, or complex transactions experience.
• Ability to independently research, analyze, and document complex accounting matters.
• Experience designing or improving accounting processes and internal controls.
• Excellent communication across multiple teams and leadership levels.

Responsabilités

• Own end-to-end accounting for crypto and tokenization activities, including month-end/quarter-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls for cryptocurrency and digital assets.
• Collaborate with crypto leadership to understand new products and transaction flows for proper accounting treatment.
• Oversee crypto-related transactions, including holdings, transfers, fees, settlements, and related activities.
• Coordinate with Finance, Legal, Compliance for regulatory reporting applicable to crypto business.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and scalable accounting solutions for growing volumes.
• Act as primary accounting contact for crypto initiatives and provide guidance on implications.
