Job summary

Alpaca is seeking a highly experienced Accounting Senior Manager to lead cryptocurrency accounting operations and support complex accounting matters across the organization. This role combines ownership of crypto accounting with broader technical accounting, audit leadership, and internal controls development.

The ideal candidate will navigate evolving regulatory requirements, partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, and external auditors, and ensure accurate, scalable accounting as the business

Qualifications

• BS/BA in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting research.
• Experience with audits and external accounting processes.
• Experience with cryptocurrency, digital assets, fintech or similar complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Own crypto and digital assets accounting end-to-end, including month/quarter close and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain crypto accounting policies, controls, and procedures.
• Lead external financial statement audits and regulatory reporting efforts.
• Provide technical accounting guidance for complex transactions and new products.
