Job summary

Bastion seeks a Cryogenics Mechanical Engineer to support NASA-related space programs in Houston, Texas. You will design and analyze cryogenic components, vacuum jacketed piping, and related systems while developing documentation and coordinating with vendors.

The role emphasizes safety reviews and cross-functional collaboration on complex cryogenic projects. Requirements include US citizenship or permanent status, a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, and 2+ years of relevant design

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
2+ years of progressively responsible mechanical design experience.
Experience with stress analysis of pressure components and hands-on system development.
Knowledge of machining, welding, piping, and pipe fitting practices.
Ability to interact with contractors, vendors, and procurement professionals.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering design and analysis for cryogenic components and piping systems.
Develop procurement documentation, specifications, and drawings.
Coordinate with vendors, participate in design reviews and witness testing.
Support facility operations for cryogenic systems and distribution.
Provide troubleshooting and oversight during assembly, installation, and commissioning.
Participate in safety reviews, hazard analyses, and engineering review boards.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and present findings.
