Job summary
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory seeks an accomplished leader to head the Cryogenics Division within the Accelerator Directorate. You will oversee cryogenic systems supporting accelerator operations, including LCLS-II, and guide engineering, maintenance, and upgrades to ensure safety and reliability.
The role requires directing resources, implementing best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support current and future facility initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum ten years of relevant experience in engineering, operations, or large technical programs.
- Experience leading a large, complex technical organization with 24x7 operations.
- Ability to attract, develop, and retain staff and manage matrixed organizations.
Responsibilities
- Lead cryogenic operations and engineering for SLAC accelerator facilities.
- Ensure reliable operation of the LCLS-II cryoplant and cryogenic infrastructure.
- Direct division resources, staffing, budget, and maintenance activities for safety and efficiency.
- Promote disciplined operations, safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
