Job summary

The University of Rochester in Rochester, NY is seeking a detail-oriented engineer to support Cryogenic & Tritium Facility operations for producing and testing tritium-filled targets for the Omega Laser system.

You will work with cryogenic and vacuum systems, perform data-driven analysis, and participate in validation and testing activities with engineers and technicians. Shift work including overnight hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Willingness to work non-standard shifts as needed.
• Experience with data analysis and diagnostic tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support cryogenic and tritium facility operations for Omega Laser targets.
• Perform lab and field-testing using diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain radiological containment areas and perform routine maintenance.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and technicians across teams.
• Operate during shifts including overnight hours as required.
• Conduct data-driven analysis to support performance evaluation.
