Job summary

OSC in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Cryogenic Technician to install, repair, refurbish and maintain cryogenic equipment including bulk storage tanks. The role requires site travel, safety focus, and strong mechanical and electrical skills.

A valid Class D license to travel to customer sites is required. Responsibilities include performing maintenance, troubleshooting, site surveys, and documenting installations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent or technical training preferred.
• 2+ years of plumbing or other technical experience.
• 2+ years of cryogenic system equipment experience preferred.
• Experience with positioning equipment, welding and electrical work is beneficial.
• Strong mechanical ability and ability to read equipment diagrams.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate, use and train others on equipment.
• Ability to travel to customer sites with a valid license.

Responsibilities

• Install equipment for bulk and micro bulk tank distribution systems.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on bulk and micro bulk tanks and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot, calibrate and repair equipment problems.
• Conduct site surveys for cryogenic systems.
• Prepare documentation for installations and inspections to maintain compliance.
• Respond to service requests in a timely manner.
• Install piping inside customer facilities (low to medium pressure).
• Maintain communication across departments to provide cryogenic support.

Cryogenic Technician

St. Paul, MN

$28/hr to $34/hr

The Cryogenic Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, refurbishing, inspection and maintenance on cryogenic equipment; this is to include cryogenic bulk and micro bulk storage tanks. They will ensure the proper function of the gas storage and distribution equipment while upholding a safe work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Install equipment for bulk and micro bulk tank distribution systems
• Perform maintenance repairs on all bulk and micro bulk tanks and ancillary equipment ensuring good working conditions
• Troubleshoot, calibrate, service and repair a variety of equipment problems
• Conduct site surveys for cryogenic systems
• Prepare and complete all required documentation for installations and inspections to maintain compliance
• Respond to service requests in a timely manner
• Install low to medium pressure process piping inside customer facilities
• Understanding of material capability
• Provide support to customers regarding best equipment for their project needs
• Maintain communication across all departments providing cryogenic support for all locations
• Support the EOS/Traction process by attending and participating in L-10 meetings

Other Responsibilities

• Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervisor
• Work closely with Plant Managers to ensure Plant fill equipment are fully operational

Education, Experience and Skills

• High School diploma or equivalency, Technical College degree or equivalent is preferred
• 2+ years of previous plumbing or other relevant technical experience
• 2+ years of cryogenic system equipment experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding application, and equipment is an asset
• Skilled in working with electricity and electrical components
• Strong mechanical ability
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Operate, use, and train others on all equipment and machines
• Must be able to interpret equipment diagrams and complete necessary documents for projects
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Must possess a valid Class D Driver’s License to travel to customer sites
• Strong team player that excels working independently

Equipment Used

• Company vehicle will be provided to perform necessary travel for the job
• Forklift, man lift, ladder, two-wheel dollies and liquid cart
• Office equipment and computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and ERP Software
• Various power and handheld tools, such as grinders, impact wrenches drills, flow meters, amp clamps, engine compressor, electrical testing equipment, etc
• Safety shoes and safety glasses required; gloves, hearing protection, and welding gear when applicable

The hourly range for this position is $28/hour - $34/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity.
