Job summary

PsiQuantum is hiring a Validation Engineer to advance the performance validation of electro-optical subsystems in cryogenic environments. You will design lab setups, collect data, and generate reports to guide improvements.

The role requires a 5+ year engineering/physics background, hands-on test equipment experience, and collaboration with design and experimental teams to push quantum technology toward practical deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Physics or Materials Science; 5+ years industry experience.
• Experience with testing in cryogenic environments.
• Experience with optical and electrical test equipment listed above.
• Experience developing test methods and optimization, tuning/calibration algorithms.
• Experience working with single photon detectors and photonic integrated circuits preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define figures of merits and validation plans for the cryogenic electro-optical assemblies.
• Design and build laboratory setups comprising light sources, detector, switches; function generators, oscilloscopes, etc. to validate design functionality in cryogenic environments.
• Contribute to the development of software scripts to automatically drive the measurements setups and feed data into a database.
• Perform the measures, provide detailed reports including expected yield indications.
• Execute the validation plans, including debugging and characterization the cryogenic electro-optical.
• Review and provide feedback to the electro-optical assembly’s design team.
• Collaborate with the design and experimental teams across the company to learn from current best known methods.
