Job summary

D-Wave Quantum Inc. in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a Research Technician to help launch and stabilize our new lab. You will support dilution refrigerators, payload systems, and cryogenic testing as part of the LabOps team.

Training occurs at our Burnaby, BC location before returning to Florida to continue day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and increasing ownership of lab readiness in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical technical experience in a lab or similar environment.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation or experimental hardware.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
• Solid troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new systems and cryogenic operating skills.

Responsibilities

• Support dilution refrigerator cooldowns and warmups, including prep and monitoring.
• Assist with resistance measurements and microwave system data collection.
• Record cooldown data, payload info, configurations, and state changes in LabOpsHub.
• Perform first-pass troubleshooting and routine maintenance with team support.
• Coordinate with other teams to support payload readiness and throughput.
• Help establish Florida lab operations by documenting workflows and procedures.
• Follow procedures, own tasks, and escalate risks as needed.
