Job summary

xLight Inc. is seeking a Cryogenic Engineering Leader to build and guide a team responsible for a 2 Kelvin cryogenic plant supporting its superconducting electron accelerator.

You will oversee design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and performance validation across all project phases. The role requires deep cryogenic engineering expertise, 15+ years of experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to coordinate across internal groups and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical/Cryogenic Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of cryogenic engineering experience in design, construction and operation.
• Demonstrated leadership managing technical teams and complex projects.
• Strong communication skills to lead and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of the 2 K cryogenic plant with system integration.
• Manage scheduling, budgeting, risk and stakeholder communication.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and performance validation.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with vendors and internal teams.
