Job summary

Rutgers University seeks a Postdoctoral Associate for the Rutgers CryoEM & Nanoimaging Facility (RCNF) to advance cryo-electron microscopy in biological research. The role involves conducting advanced cryoEM experiments, training students and fellows, and collaborating across intramural and extramural labs.

The position requires a doctoral degree and at least two years of EM experience with peer‑reviewed publications; shell scripting and insect cell expression are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a doctoral degree in a related field.
• Requires at least 2 years’ experience in electron microscopy.
• Requires prior peer-reviewed publication in the field of electron microscopy.
• Experience with electron microscope service and repair is desirable.
• Experience with insect cell expression is preferred.

Responsibilities

• The researcher will conduct experiments and provide technical expertise in cryoEM techniques.
• The researcher will train and mentor students, fellows, and other scientists in cryo-electron microscopy.
• The researcher will perform and document cutting-edge cryoEM experiments independently.
• Experiments include cryo-TEM and tomography, cryo-FIB milling, correlative microscopy, vitrification, cryo-SEM, and traditional TEM.
