Job summary

Florida Canyon is seeking a Crusher and Screening Plant Operator to maximize material production while minimizing interruptions. You will operate crushing and screening equipment, perform pre-shift inspections, and help with maintenance and clean‑up tasks to keep the plant running smoothly.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and comfort wearing a respirator. Teamwork, basic computer skills, and adherence to MSHA safety standards are essential.

Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The ideal candidate will operate a crushing and screening plant while maximizing material production and minimizing plant interruptions and/or breakdowns. The applicant will also perform other work assignments such as clean‑up and operation of mobile equipment including loaders to cover vacations, absenteeism or other production requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, minor repairs and regular service on crushing and screening equipment daily as directed by supervisor.


• General cleanliness of assigned equipment.


• Perform pre‑shift inspection, maintain equipment repairs/maintenance records and ensure that records are turned in to your supervisor.


• Complete assigned work safely and efficiently that meets the company policies and MSHA standards, both with and without direct supervision.


• Safely and properly operate loader to feed the crusher in order to meet production goals.


• Shovel excess material when needed away from equipment.


• All other duties assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.


• Ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds required.


• Demonstrate strong computer skills preferred.


• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently required.


• Must be able to wear a respirator mask up to an entire shift required.


• Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position required.


• Industry standard expectations such as pre and post shift inspections, navigating mining environments, understanding, communicating, reading and following safety procedures and policies relating to mining and the operation of haul trucks and/or other mobile equipment are in place.
