Job summary

Knife River Wyoming is seeking a skilled maintenance technician for work predominately at the Cheyenne crusher. You will perform maintenance and repairs on crusher equipment and assist with improvements to ensure safe operation.

The role requires reading manuals, safe operation, documentation, and adherence to OSHA/DOT/MSHA/EPA regulations. A positive attitude, teamwork, and flexibility for overtime and some Saturdays are essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating and maintaining crushing or construction equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of plant operations and maintenance; good mechanical trouble shooting skills.
  • Welding / fabrication skills can be helpful; MSHA certifications are a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair crusher equipment to keep it safe and operational.
  • Safely operate equipment and standard/specialty tools, welders, hoists and lifting devices.
  • Read, interpret and apply information from technical manuals and schematics.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and others inside/outside the company; work independently or in a team.
  • Accurately complete required daily documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, MSHA, EPA, DNR and safety/environmental regulations.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to prevent unsafe actions.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to work well with others and follow directions.
  • Be flexible with shifts, including overtime, nights and some Saturdays.

Job Summary

Work to be predominately performed at the Cheyenne, WY crusher.

Duties And/Or Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repairs of a significant nature on all crusher equipment and/or assisting with repairs/ improvements/ maintenance of equipment to assure it is in safe working condition.
  • Safely operate equipment, standard and specialty tools, welders, hoists and other lifting devices, etc.
  • Read, interpret, analyze and apply information in technical manuals and schematics.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written). Frequent contact and communication with others within and outside the company. Self-motivated, team-player with excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work independently or in a team setting; ability to maintain positive supervisory and customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
  • Accurately complete required daily documentation.
  • Ensure OSHA, DOT, MSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  • Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed.
  • Need positive attitude and the ability to work well with others and follow directions.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Qualified applicants should have previous experience operating and performing maintenance on crushing or construction equipment.
  • Must have a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others and follow directions.
  • A basic knowledge of plant operations, and maintenance. Must have good mechanical, troubleshooting skills.
  • Welding / fabrication skills, equipment operation skills, general experience, and MSHA certifications are helpful.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
