Position overview

Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH company, is seeking a safety-focused and dependable Crusher Equipment Operator to support aggregate production operations.

The Crusher Equipment Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining portable and stationary crushing and screening equipment used in the production of sand, gravel, and aggregate materials.

This position plays a critical role in achieving production goals while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate crushing, screening, conveying, and related aggregate processing equipment.
  • Start up, monitor, adjust, and shut down crushing plant equipment according to established procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections of crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, and associated equipment.
  • Monitor material flow, product sizing, and production rates to ensure quality specifications are met. Identify equipment issues and perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • Coordinate with loaders, haul truck operators, and plant personnel to maintain efficient production.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities, including lubrication, housekeeping, belt tracking, and wear-part inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company and MSHA standards.
  • Accurately complete production, maintenance, and inspection reports. Follow all company safety policies, environmental requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with plant setup, teardown, and relocation activities when operating portable plants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operations.

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience operating crushing, screening, aggregate processing, mining, or heavy construction equipment preferred.
  • Experience in aggregate production, quarry operations, or heavy civil construction strongly preferred.
  • MSHA training or ability to obtain required certifications.
Work Requirements
  • Working knowledge of aggregate crushing and screening processes.
  • Ability to identify mechanical issues and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and conveyor systems.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, safety procedures, and work instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
