Job summary

Montana Materials & Construction is seeking a Crusher Plant Operator to manage production and load-out of plant materials. The role ensures equipment operates efficiently and minor maintenance is performed, with major issues referred to the supervisor.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (GED) and about two years of related experience, plus knowledge of inventory systems and safety procedures. This is a full-time position in the United States.

Position Overview

This is a skilled position controlling production and load out of materials produced in plants. The plant operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of plant equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Reads work schedules and determines sequence of operations.
  • Operates plant according to production schedule using appropriate materials.
  • Monitor material operation to ensure quality of mix.
  • Performs basic maintenance and service on plant as required.
  • Ability to weld using an arc welder or cutting torch is preferred.
  • Cleans control house and yard facility daily.
  • Enters production information into computer systems.
  • Other duties as assigned per supervisor.
  • May be subject to drug testing, medical exams and physical agility testing.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
  • Keep time and material records.
  • Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
  • Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
Qualifications

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
