Job summary

PBF Energy seeks a Product Quality Assurance Coordinator to implement and monitor product quality sampling, testing, specifications and oversight across crude oil and feedstock transfers. The role will be based onsite at Parsippany, NJ or at refinery locations, and involves travel up to about 10%.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of petroleum product quality experience (including lab work) and a technical Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• 5 years Petroleum Product Quality experience, including at least 2 years in a petroleum laboratory.
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in a technical discipline, or related experience with petroleum quality.
• Must possess analytical, organizational and strong communications skills for working with all levels within the organization, and third party laboratories, terminals, pipelines and trading partners.
• Flexible schedule based on business requirements; approximately 10% travel and field presence anticipated.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation and monitoring of product quality sampling, testing, specifications and oversight of quality standards across crude oil and feedstock purchases and sales.
• Monitor quality oversight programs for SBR Feed and Renewable Diesel feedstocks, including acceptance requirements.
• Maintain and communicate crude and feedstock quality specifications.
• Verify product quality processes and records for regulatory compliance (US and Canada).
• Oversee sampling logistics with independent inspectors, customers and third parties.
• Coordinate third-party sample shipments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Assist with troubleshooting and investigations of product quality incidents across refinery, terminal and pipeline locations.
• Assist with tank conversions, marine vessel/compartment cleanliness and related quality activities.
• Interact with schedulers, traders, customers, suppliers, refinery and pipeline reps regarding product quality issues.
• Periodically audit independent inspection labs.
