Job summary

Belton Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, has a PRN opportunity for a Certified Respiratory Therapist. You will work under RT supervision performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including gas administration, aerosol therapy, and ventilation support.

You will also handle documentation, equipment cleaning, and infection control while contributing to patient care across ages. This role requires NBRC-CRT and state RRT/RCP certification and BCLS within 30 days of start.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NBRC-CRT Certified Respiratory Therapist credential.
• RRT/RCP-State Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner credential.
• Certificate in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the RT Supervisor or Team Leader, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by a physician.
• Administer medical gases, aerosol therapy, obtain and analyze blood specimens, perform patient testing, operate and maintain respiratory equipment, provide mechanical ventilation, maintain artificial airways, assist with CPR, educate patients, monitor therapy response.
• Complete documentation of in-patient and departmental records, clean equipment, and uphold safety and infection control practices.

Today’s Respiratory Therapists have demanding responsibilities related to patient care and serve as vital members of the healthcare team. You must have a broad knowledge of the pathophysiology of the cardiopulmonary system and the complex procedures required to properly diagnose and treat patients, from the very young to the very old.

What you will do in this role
