**Responsibilities**

Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

+ Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.

+ Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.

+ Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.

+ Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.

+ Assist with care, calibration and maintenance of all equipment. Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment. Process equipment per establishedcleaning/sterilization procedures.

+ Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls.

**Requirements**

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

+ BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

+ Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision required. Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional letter will be accepted until license isissued.

+ Certified Respiratory Therapist required.

+ Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

+ Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy ofPediatrics (AAP) preferred.

+ Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

+ High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

**Additional Preferences**

No NICU experience required. Will train!
