Job summary

North Little Rock School District is seeking a Crossing Guard for North Little Rock Middle (grades 6, 7, 8). This part-time role includes morning and afternoon shifts, from 7:30am–9:00am and 3:00pm–4:30pm, directing pedestrians and controlling traffic at designated crossings near the school.

Applicant should have a high school diploma or GED and good communication skills. You will report to the Principal or Vice Principal; the district is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Job Description

Crossing Guard:

• Directs or escorts pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as necessary.
• Guides or controls vehicular or pedestrian traffic at designated locations.
• Monitors traffic flow to identify safe gaps for pedestrians to cross streets.
• Part-TimeThe hours are 7:30am - 9:00am Mornings Afternoon hours are 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Physical Demands:

• Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
• Requires effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.
