Job summary

Peabody Public Schools is seeking a part-time Crossing Guard for the Washington Street and Swampscot Ave area. Shifts run 8-9 am and 3-4 pm, five days a week during the school year, to assist students crossing busy streets.

The role pays $18.80 per hour and requires following district safety procedures. Experience with bilingual communication is a plus, and a background check is mandatory for employment consideration.

Qualifications

• Report safety issues to Lead Crossing Guard.

Responsibilities

• Monitor crosswalk and provides street crossing services for students at assigned crosswalk.
• Proficient on current methods and regulations for crossing safety.
• Report problems to the location specific Principal and Lead Crossing Guard.
• Comply with all local laws and procedures.
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the School District.

Job Description

Crossing Guard needed at:

• Washington Street and Swampscot Ave: two hours per day (1 AM hour/1 PM hour) 8-9 am and 3:00-4:00 pm five days per week M-F School year 180 days.

$18.80 per hour

Qualifications

• Must pass Massachusetts criminal background check
• Report and recommend safety related issues to the Lead Crossing Guard
• Bilingualism is a highly desired skill for a position, but not a requirement

Responsibilities

• Proficient on current methods and regulations
• Monitor crosswalk and provides street crossing services for students at assigned crosswalk

• Complies with all local laws and procedures
• Perform other such duties as deemed necessary by the School District
