The Village of Orland Park is seeking a Part-Time Crossing Guard to safely escort school children and pedestrians at an assigned school crossing, using gaps in traffic and stopping vehicles as needed.
Some duties may include working with the Police Department and attending department meetings and/or events. Applicants must be at least 18 with a HS diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

This part-time position has the primary responsibility of providing a safe escort of school children and pedestrians at an assigned school crossing as determined by the Department, using the natural gaps that normally occur in moving traffic and stopping traffic as necessary.
It may also include working in the Police Department and attending assigned department meetings and/or functions.
Must be a responsible, dependable individual to perform assigned duties in all weather conditions and work both morning and afternoon crossings. The ability to work effectively with children, teens and adults is necessary while performing this job.
Requires a valid driver's license and must have own transportation.
Minimum of 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED also required.
Hourly pay rate is $17.70 - $21.94, depending on experience and qualifications.
