City of Oak Park is seeking a part-time Crossing Guard to direct children and traffic at school crossings, ensuring safe pedestrian crossings during arrival and dismissal times.
The role requires walking/standing for extended periods, quick independent decision-making, and reporting to the Community Resources Officer within the Public Safety department.
Directs actions of children and traffic at street intersections and school entrances to ensure safe crossings; monitors and enforces school zone speed limits.
This position is a non-supervisory classification and receives limited supervision, consulting with Field Supervisor in unusual situations.
Community Resources Officer
This is a part-time position in a non-unionized environment with an hourly rate of $15.00
