Job summary

Snap-on is seeking a Weld Shop Associate to safely operate various machines and equipment involved in all areas of production. The role includes cross-training to operate multiple machines in multiple functions, ensuring quality and safety across processes.

The position requires setting up equipment, performing in-process quality checks, handling shipping/receiving tasks, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. OT may be required to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior machine experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to interpret written orders, instructions, procedures, etc.
• Basic math aptitude including decimals and fractions and read a tape measure.
• Mechanically inclined and quality oriented.
• Knowledge of precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers; metrology certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross-training as necessary to learn to operate production machinery in accordance with specifications. Assigned machines may include welders, grinders, cutters, and similar equipment.
• Set up equipment and make adjustments to equipment as necessary to produce quality product and meet established production metrics.
• Perform in-process quality checks; visually inspect work done in previous operations before continuing to perform further operations.
• Perform basic tests to ensure that all finished product conforms to product specifications.
• Immediately stop performing any process that is producing non-conforming product and inform a member of management.
• Perform picking, shipping and receiving functions including packing finished products, filling coil orders and UPS processing.
• Perform inventory control functions including stock transfers, refills, cycle counting, etc.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment including keeping cutting and welding equipment in good working condition.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
