Job summary

Intermountain Health Primary Childrens Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacist in dispensing, counseling, and regulatory compliance. The role is a float technician with varied shifts and holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
• Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of approved drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents.

Responsibilities

• Assists with all phases of pharmacy services under supervision.
• Answers phones and provides excellent customer service.
• Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and patient information and maintaining records.
• Utilizes pharmacy technology to prepare medication orders and perform calculations.
• Ensures supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist.
• Maintains medication supplies and manages controlled substance inventories.
• Packages and labels medications accurately to minimize waste.
• Maintains pharmacy cleanliness and orderliness.
• Communicates with caregivers and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.
• Participates in departmental meetings and suggests process improvements.
• Promotes Intermountain Health's mission, vision, and values.
• Delivers flexible care and performs other duties as assigned.
