Job summary

AppFolio's Lead Technical Program Manager, Risk & Security will drive cross-functional execution of critical security initiatives across engineering, SRE, IT, and other teams. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven track record in technical program or project management within information security or engineering.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional security projects with software development lifecycles, CI/CD, or SRE/IT workflows.
• Hands-on experience utilizing Jira to manage backlogs and delivery timelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication with executive reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute strategic roadmaps for core security initiatives across application and infrastructure security, vulnerability management, and threat operations.
• Collaborate with Engineering, SRE, IT, and Business Systems teams to scope requirements and track milestones.
• Implement intake and prioritization processes for transparent, well-resourced handoffs aligned with business goals.
• Identify blockers and dependencies, escalating with actionable options and trade-offs.
• Serve as the primary cross-functional liaison for security-driven initiatives and vendor engagements.
• Deliver executive-ready reporting on program health, progress, and risks framed around business risk reduction.
