Job summary

JPI is seeking an Operational Ownership Lead for its Irvine, CA portfolio. This role ensures projects are set up correctly from predevelopment through construction, coordinating design teams, consultants, and field operations to meet milestones and align with both technical and commercial goals.

The position reports to the Director of Operational Ownership and requires a background in architecture, engineering, construction management, and multifamily experience, with a focus on process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience, including development, design management and construction, preferably in multifamily.
• Proficiency with Excel, Bluebeam and Procore.
• Deep knowledge of project phasing, execution risks, and owner-driven design changes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple teams and projects while ensuring quality and consistency.
• Experience developing scalable tools and processes for design validation and documentation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate weekly design agendas with design teams and track milestone progress.
• Lead consultant onboarding to establish scope clarity, financial control, and deliverables.
• Review and validate consultant billings for progress and scope alignment.
• Lead cross-functional design coordination and issue resolution.
• Support project-based design changes, budget alignment, and timely resolutions to avoid schedule delays.
• Serve as owner’s representative for construction and operations during active builds.
