Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks a qualified special education teacher to coordinate and provide instructional programs for students with disabilities and manage IEPs, while maintaining confidentiality and complying with FERPA and all applicable laws and district procedures.

You will develop and implement IEPs, apply instructional strategies, monitor progress, collaborate with staff and families, attend meetings, and stay current with best practices through ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Licensed in Exceptional Children (NC).
• Experience with IEPs and special education services preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops IEPs for students with disabilities and updates as needed.
• Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools.
• Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and IEP goals.
• Uses varied teaching methods and materials to meet student needs.
• Monitors behavior and maintains classroom discipline.
• Participates in IEP meetings and collaborates with staff and families.
• Stays current with best practices through professional development.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
