The University of Georgia is seeking an individual to assist with lab and field experiments. Responsibilities include preparing for experiments and maintaining cleanliness in lab areas and greenhouses. This is a full-time position available during the summer months, requiring punctuality for shifts starting at 7AM or occasionally 6AM for out of town travel.
Preferred candidates are high school graduates with knowledge of operating farm equipment. A positive attitude and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions are also important.
Individual will assist in lab experiments, prepare for upcoming experiments, keep lab areas, and greenhouses clean and organized. Will also assist with field experiments, assist technician and graduate student where needed. Full time work available during the summer months. Shifts start at 7AM for work most days and occasionally 6AM for out of town travel to Plains and Griffin so punctuality is important.
Research
High school graduate is preferred.
Knowledge of operating farm equipment is preferred. Working in the South Georgia heat and humidity, have a positive attitude and work well with others. Comfortable with dirt and working on their own at times.
Walking, bending, stooping, and lifting lightweight materials, work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Driving as needed for job duties.
