Job summary

Farm Credit Illinois is seeking a Crop Insurance Training & Instruction Facilitator to develop and maintain instructional materials and deliver technical crop insurance training for our team. You will partner with subject matter experts, regional managers, and leadership to ensure accurate training, onboarding, and licensing compliance across the Crop Insurance Division.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, instructional design, adult education, educational technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in crop insurance, service, or adult education, with demonstrated experience in individual coaching or development.
  • Have or be willing to obtain an Illinois insurance license to sell and service crop insurance, specifically Multi-Peril and Crop Hail products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain instructional documents, presentations, e-learning resources, facilitator guides, participant materials, reference guides, and other training resources.
  • Facilitate technical crop insurance training in partnership with subject matter experts, incorporating practical application, product positioning, and sales relevance where appropriate.
  • Create and maintain onboarding learning plans for new crop insurance team members, including licensing requirements, job shadowing, on-the-job learning, and instructor-led training.
  • Coordinate spring and fall Approved Insurance Provider product update sessions, continuing education documentation, training logistics, course materials, and related follow-up.
  • Support individual development and coaching for crop insurance agents and Crop Insurance Service Specialists by identifying skill-building opportunities and monitoring progress with leaders.
  • Maintain licensing compliance by tracking continuing education requirements, renewal deadlines, and related activity through the division’s licensing portal.
  • Lead or support crop insurance work groups, committees, and projects by coordinating timelines, documentation, resources, and implementation.

The Role

The Crop Insurance Training & Instruction Facilitator develops and maintains instructional materials and facilitates technical crop insurance training for FCI team members. This role partners with subject matter experts, Regional Managers, and the Regional Vice President, Related Services to deliver accurate, timely training; support onboarding and individual development; and help ensure licensing compliance and continuing education across the Crop Insurance Division.

What We Are Looking For

Required Skills

  • Ability to learn, organize, and communicate technical crop insurance subject matter.
  • Ability to write effective instructional copy, learning content, audio scripts, and video scripts.
  • Skill in using multimedia training platforms, learning methods, and technology to support efficient training delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, solve problems, set priorities, and see projects through to completion.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate complex topics clearly to a variety of audiences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree inbusiness, instructional design, adult education, educational technology, or a related fieldand5+ years of experience in crop insurance, service, or adult education, with demonstrated experience in individual coaching or development; or equivalent education, experience, and skillset sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Have or be willing to obtain an Illinois insurance license to sell and service crop insurance, specifically Multi-Peril and Crop Hail products.
