Job summary

Great American Insurance Group's Crop Division seeks a Claims Representative for Eastern South Dakota. The position is fully remote within the territory and may require travel up to 40%. • Conducts claim investigations to confirm coverage and to determine liability, compensability and damages.
• May attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Conveys routine to moderately complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• May authorize payments in accordance with assigned authority limit and ensure payments are made in a timely manner.
• Maintains accurate and detailed claim files, including all correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Great American's Crop Division is looking for a Claims Representative in Eastern South Dakota (I-29 Corridor). This individual will work fully remote in this territory and will be required to travel up to 40%.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of crop related claims to evaluate compensability/liability.
• Conducts claim investigations to confirm coverage and to determine liability, compensability and damages.
• This includes crop field work and knowledge of grain marketing.
• Determines and may negotiate appropriate claim settlements/reserves within prescribed authority.
• May attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Conveys routine to moderately complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and external partners.

Job Requirements
