Job summary

Great American Insurance Group seeks an Associate Underwriting Supervisor in its Fargo, ND office. This role coordinates daily activities of the underwriting team, reviews new applications, and ensures policy and portfolio accuracy while maintaining files and reporting to management.

On-site five days a week with the potential to work one day remotely after one year, you will guide staff, support risk assessment, ensure compliance and provide training on safety practices and regulatory

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Generally, a minimum of 6 years of underwriting experience or a related field.
• Requires a minimum of 2 reports. Responsible for overseeing team priorities and coordinating daily tasks. May occasionally perform tasks alongside direct reports. Provides training to new team members.

• Leads process improvements to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance.
• Provides technical guidance and training to clients on safety practices and regulatory requirements.

• Oversees the preparation and maintenance of underwriting files, ensuring all documents and approvals are properly filed.
• Facilitates effective communication with agents and customers to obtain information needed to underwrite risks and address issues.
• Requests or generates management reports to monitor and evaluate unit performance, client satisfaction, and other key business metrics.
• Oversees data entry and processing to ensure integrity and prevent potential systemic issues.
• Leads opportunities to streamline procedures and enhance efficiency. Ensures compliance with company and regulatory guidelines.
• Provides technical guidance and training to clients on safety practices and regulatory compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
