GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for as-needed PRN work.

Position Purpose

Provide quality and versatile anesthesia care under the direct supervision of a physician.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of airway management.
• Facilitate emergence and recovery from anesthesia by evaluating patient response, and selecting, ordering, and administering medications and fluids to maintain patient stability during transfer.
• Initiate and administer post-anesthesia pharmacological or fluid support of the cardiovascular system.
• Initiate and administer respiratory support to ensure adequate ventilation and oxygenation during post-anesthesia period.
• Provide post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care.
• Discharge patient from post-anesthesia care unit.
• Closely support and monitor vital functions, and take corrective action in case of adverse drug responses.
• Terminate anesthesia in a timely fashion, ensuring patient safety in the post-anesthetic recovery room.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) required. Valid CRNA certification required.
• Minimum of two years or progressive experience in a multispecialty physician group preferred.

Performance Requirements

• Ability to transport patients in stretchers to various locations.
• Ability to perform clinically as a nurse anesthetist regularly.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with clinical staff.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control techniques.
• Understanding of growth and development principles relevant to patient care.
• Proficient technical (computer) skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and demonstrate self-motivation and ethical standards.
