Job summary

Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center seeks a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (Per Diem) to direct anesthesia services. The role involves coordinating the care team to deliver individualized patient care and developing care plans with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

The CRNA will administer anesthesia in accordance with state licensing guidelines, hospital rules, and supervisory physician oversight, with PRN shifts and varied hours in Reading, PA.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited nursing program.
  • BSN preferred or COA-accredited nurse anesthesia program.
  • One year acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate care team members to provide quality patient care.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This job is responsible for directing and coordinating members of the care team, focusing on the provision of individualized quality patient care consistent with organizational standards. Develops the patient plan of care in partnership with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and patient/family. A qualified anesthesia provider involved in the administration of anesthesia and related services as delineated by state licensing guidelines, hospital rules and regulations, and supervisory physician.

Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs is preferred.
Experience:
  • One-year experience within the last three (3) years in an acute care setting preferred.
License/Certification:
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • BLS certification required.
