Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville, KY is seeking a part-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to administer anesthesia and manage perioperative care within our university hospital setting.

The ideal candidate has NBCRNA certification, Kentucky CRNA licensure, and BLS/ACLS credentials, with at least one year of CRNA experience; they will mentor residents and uphold patient safety and HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia (required)
• Minimum of one year experience as a CRNA (preferred)
• Active Kentucky CRNA license (required)
• Certification by NBCRNA (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)

Responsibilities

• Reviews and completes a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient; during the pre-anesthetic assessment, maintains the responsibility to recognize the need for additional studies or consultation
• Develops and carries out an anesthetic plan including the selection and implementation of appropriate drugs, monitors and necessary procedures (e.g., invasive and non-invasive lines)
• Provides continuous vigilant monitoring of the patient peri-operative including correcting and responding to abnormal patient responses or surgical complications
• Transfers patient safely to Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Teaches and mentors nurse anesthesia residents
