Job summary

Montefiore is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide general and regional anesthesia under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist. The CRNA will also perform preoperative anesthesia services in the Pre-Anesthesia Assessment Center with collaboration from the attending physician.

Qualifications

• DNP or DNAP from COA-accredited nurse anesthesia program.
• NBCRNA certification is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the anesthesia cart and necessary supplies.
• Prepare and check the anesthesia machine prior to procedures.
• Requisition, prepare, and label perioperative medications.
• Conduct preoperative patient evaluations.
• Obtain appropriate intravenous access.
• Apply all required patient monitoring equipment.
• Document all anesthesia department records in a timely and legible manner.
• Document all perioperative pharmacological interventions.
• Document all perioperative non-pharmacological interventions and events on the anesthesia record.
• Provide patient report to PACU nursing staff following procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in the operating room and anesthesia areas.
• Notify anesthesia technicians of equipment issues or supply needs.
• Maintain accurate counts of all controlled substances used.
