Qualifications

The CRNA plans and administers anesthesia and related care to patients upon request by the patient's physician to facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical or obstetrical procedures, according to the standards and principles of anesthesiology.

Responsibilities

Develops plan of anesthesia care for patients of all ages in coordination with an anesthesiologist or the patient\'s physician.
Implements and adjusts the anesthetic plan for patients to adapt to the patient\'s response.
Documents response to the anesthetic in a complete and accurate manner.
Ensures patient safety during anesthetic care and transfers care to other qualified health care providers as needed.
Collaborates with and directs other health care personnel related to anesthesia care.

What We Require

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Graduate of a COA-accredited nurse anesthesia program.

Experience: None

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Anesthetist in Virginia. Current certification as an active, practicing nurse anesthetist by the NBCRNA. Maintain current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
