Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to administer anesthesia under physician supervision. The role collaborates with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to ensure patient safety and high-quality care.

Required is a Master’s degree in nurse anesthesia (AANA-accredited), APRN licensure in the practice state, and AANA certification with BCLS. The position requires flexibility to work a 24/7 schedule in a demanding, compassionate environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nurse anesthesia from an AANA-accredited program.
• APRN license in the state of practice.
• AANA certification and BCLS certification.
• Proficient with data entry and Windows-style applications.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call).

Responsibilities

• Documents patient procedures and incidents.
• Assesses patient before, during, and after administering anesthesia.
• Ensures patient safety and administers anesthesia following accepted practice techniques.
• Acts as a liaison to surgeons, anesthesiologists, coworkers, patients, and families.
• Participates in department quality assurance initiatives and professional development.
• Adapts communication and approach to different patient populations and privacy requirements.
• Performs other related duties as required.
