Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
• Nurse Anesthetist certification (CRNA) issued by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
• Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber license issued by the state of practice.
• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
• PALS certification to be obtained within 6 months.
• ACLS certification to be obtained within 6 months.
• NRP certification to be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provides anesthesia services and manages induction, maintenance, and emergence of anesthesia.
• Performs pre-anesthesia duties and ensures readiness of equipment.
• Remains with patients until safe transfer of care.
• Responds to life-threatening emergencies and maintains an airway.
• May administer anesthesia under supervision.
