Job summary

Advocate Health in Illinois seeks a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a full-time 40-hour workweek. The role covers pre-, intra-, and post-anesthesia across general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care with a multidisciplinary team.

You will participate in preoperative evaluation, ensure readiness of equipment and medications, deliver anesthesia, manage emergencies, document care, and contribute to quality and education initiatives.

Qualifications

• Masters in Nursing required with active APRN license and NBCRNA certification.
• APRN license in state of practice and DEA registration prior to hire.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required prior to or within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides all elements of pre-anesthesia, anesthesia and post-anesthesia services including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care in collaboration with the surgical team.
• Manages conditions based on clinical indication, evidence-based care, and risk assessment.
• Participates in preoperative evaluation including assessment, consent, premedications, and review of studies.
• Ensures readiness of equipment, supplies and medications for planned anesthesia.
• Delivers anesthesia care including induction, maintenance, support of life functions, and emergence.
• Selects and administers anesthetics, adjunction drugs, fluids, and devices; intervenes as needed.
• Performs post-anesthesia duties and facilitates safe transfer of care.
• Handles emergency situations including advanced airway management and ACLS.
