Job summary

IronRod Health is seeking a Cardiac Rhythm Management Field Device Specialist to perform Pacemaker and ICD interrogations, provide implant support, and troubleshoot device issues across a territory. The role includes educating clinics on remote monitoring, coordinating with care teams, and maintaining device knowledge.

The position requires a relevant degree, 3+ years of device experience or certification, and willingness to travel with a 24/7 on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Physiology, Biology or Bioengineering.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience analyzing and reprogramming cardiac pacemakers and AICD devices or Cardiac Device Technology certificate.
• Pacemaker/ICD implantation or follow-up experience.
• Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) certification or plan to obtain within two years.

Responsibilities

• Perform Pacemaker & ICD interrogations for Sorin/Microport patients.
• Provide Pacemaker & ICD implant support within territory.
• Troubleshoot device issues and resolve promptly.
• Educate clinics on remote checks, alerts, and patient enrollment.
• Travel within territory and provide cross-cover during emergencies.
• Maintain knowledge of Sorin/Microport bradycardia and tachycardia products.
• Provide 24/7 on-call coverage and support as scheduled.

Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Field Device Specialist Responsibilities:

• Perform Pacemaker & ICD interrogations to Sorin/Microport patients
• Provide Pacemaker & ICD implant support within area of geographic responsibilities
• Troubleshoot critical device issues and take immediate steps towards resolution
• Provide technical and administrative support when required for European devices, programmer and training will be provided
• Educate and assist clinics with the management of remote device checks, alerts and patient enrollment
• Complete equipment requests utilizing Microport website
• Maintain comprehensive product and technical knowledge of all Sorin/Microport bradycardia and tachycardia products
• Competency in all aspects of Pacemaker and ICD implant and follow-up
• Provide on-call coverage 24 hours per day and up to 7 days a week including weekend call on a rotating schedule, based on territory
• Required to travel and provide support anywhere within the territory with cross-over coverage during emergencies when necessary
• Must have/obtain Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) Certification; candidates that are not certified must obtain certification within two years of hire date
• All other duties as assigned

Travel/Availability requirements:

• Provide 24-hour, 7 day a week on-call territory coverage (including holidays, weekends, evenings)
• Available/willing to work/travel weekends and evenings
• Ability to travel outside of assigned territory as needed
• Must be able to drive approximately 80% of the time within assigned territory
• Must be available to travel out of the assigned territory (expected to be less than 20%)
• Must have a valid driver license and current vehicle insurance policy
• Must obey all traffic laws

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Physiology, Biology or Bioengineering
• Master’s degree
• Minimum of three years of experience analyzing and reprogramming cardiac pacemaker and AICD’s or current Cardiac Device Technology Certificate from a recognized device training school
• Pacemaker/ICD implantation and/or follow up experience
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of the company
• CRAT certification
• CCT certification
• Demonstrated critical thinking ability to resolve problems and carry out instruction
• Ability to effectively collaborate with physicians regarding device status and accurately document device analysis
