Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced data center systems administrator to support VA mission-critical infrastructure in Philadelphia. You will manage physical and virtual servers, storage, and related services across enterprise data centers.

You will triage tickets in ServiceNow, update CMDB/DCIM records, and assist with change control and patch cycles while ensuring security and compliance. A technical Bachelor’s degree and hands-on data center experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field; 2+ years of enterprise data center systems administration experience.
Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux, VMware, structured cabling (CAT6, fiber), and rack/stack work.
VA Public Trust background investigation (High Risk) or ability to obtain.
ITIL v4 service management, ITSM/CMDB practices are preferred.

Responsibilities

Configure, administer, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain data center compute and systems infrastructure — physical and virtual servers, storage, and supporting services.
Rack, cable, and decommission IT equipment per airflow and asset-disposal standards.
Triage and resolve tickets in ServiceNow within SLAs; escalate as needed to maintain uptime.
Update the CMDB and DCIM records to reflect physical and logical reality.
Support planned changes, patch cycles, and after-hours cutovers.
