Job summary

Argus Media Consulting Services in Houston seeks passionate analysts to expand coverage of critical minerals across the Americas. You'll work with a global team delivering bespoke analysis, research and market intelligence for governments, oil & gas majors, traders and financial institutions.

The onboarding is in-office, then hybrid with three days per week in the office. You will develop models, provide in-depth analysis, and help commercialize new data-driven products within Argus' Analytics.

Qualifications

Argus Media Consulting Services is the advisory division of Argus Media, the world's largest independent energy price reporting and market intelligence organization. Consulting Services works with a diverse client base that includes governments, national oil and energy companies, multinational corporations, financial institutions, energy traders, and upstream and independent organizations across the energy value chain. The team operates across two core business areas: Projects and Subscriptions. The Projects team delivers bespoke, commissioned assignments tailored to client needs, while the Subscriptions team produces short-term outlooks, long-term analytical reports, and market forecasts.

What will you be doing? Due to the continued growth of Argus, we are currently looking for passionate, driven and energetic analysts to join the business. Critical minerals are key market for Argus and this role will be part of a global team working to expand Argus coverage and analysis of a strategic commodity sector. Our critical minerals business already includes the first price assessments in North America and we've been instrumental in development of several capital projects in the Americas. This role will work with our global experts to deepen our analysis of critical mineral markets and assets with a focus on the Americas.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent analyst and will thrive in a fast-paced environment. They will also be process oriented and have a keen eye for detail. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in market analysis. You will get exposure to all areas of the Argus Media Analytics business, and work with a great team.

You will provide clients with the in-depth analysis, insight and perspective they require, contributing to our outlooks and analytics, and supporting Consulting projects. You will play a key role in building the business through development of propositions, products and services. Our team numbers about 20 in Houston, is made up of mix of industry experts and recent graduates from diverse and international backgrounds. Individuals that have a 'can-do' attitude and are prepared to play a role in all aspects of building the business will thrive.

The training and support provided throughout the onboarding period requires full office attendance. Following successful completion of onboarding, hybrid working is available in accordance with the company policy, which currently requires 3 days per week attendance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain models to support the forecasting of supply, demand, capacity, imports and exports, price, production costs and margin for critical minerals
• Provide detailed analysis and commentary on commodity markets, for Consulting projects and subscription reports
• Lead components of delivery, under guidance from managers, providing input to the client projects and subscription analysis reports produced by Argus Media Analytics
• Liaise with wider Argus staff to ensure current knowledge of Argus products and maintain current knowledge of major drivers and trends across commodity markets
• Work with experts and analysts across our global offices to extract maximum value out of data collected and to deliver integrated analysis
• Identify new sources of data to capture within the Argus fundamentals databases
• Support the development and commercialization of new data-driven products
• Identify new areas of commodity market analysis
• Play a role in development of the consulting practice
