Job summary

Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity is seeking a Critical Home Repair Project Coordinator to guide homeowners through the repair process, develop scopes, and solicit bids from our contractor network.

The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, non-exempt and hourly, with a pay range of $20–$23.33 per hour based on experience, and a benefits package including health, vision, dental, 401k with match, PTO, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Basic knowledge of remodeling/home repair terms.
  • Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, and Google products.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a construction liaison between homeowner, contractor, and partner agencies.
  • Review program processes, work scopes, and energy audits with partner families.
  • Solicit bids, write and manage contracts/documents for contracted work.
  • Develop and review project scopes.
  • Maintain and expand a network of contractors capable of 75–125 projects/year.
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure scopes are understood and executed.
  • Foster relationships with state, local, and partner agencies.

$20-$23.33 per hour, based on experience

Job Summary:

The Critical Home Repair Project Coordinator is an integral part of our Home Preservation team. The CHRPC operates as a liaison between homeowners and contractors, guiding the homeowners through the construction repair process. The CHRPC is also responsible for developing scopes and soliciting bids from our network of professional contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a construction liaison between the homeowner, the contractor, and partner agencies.
  • Work with partner families to review program process, work scopes, and/or energy audits
  • Solicit bids, write and manage contracts/documents for contracted work
  • Develop and review scopes
  • Maintain and expand our professional network of contractors that can adequately sustain between 75 - 125 projects per year.
  • Work with contractors to ensure that project scopes are properly understood and executed correctly
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with state, local, and partner agencies
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license and good driving record
  • Basic knowledge of remodeling/home repair practices and terms
  • Strong computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, Google products
  • Able to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience managing positive relationships with subcontractors
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detailExperience developing and reviewing scopes
