The position requires TS/SCI with CI Polygraph eligibility, strong problem-solving abilities, and a customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

  • A combination of education and directly related experience equal to four (4) years; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements.
  • Must be an experienced Journeyman Electrician with valid state issued electrical license and relevant industry experience.
  • Requires the job knowledge, skill level and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.
  • To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions.
  • Position requires the basic skills and physical ability necessary, to include, but not limited to, the ability to stand, kneel, or crouch for long periods of time to perform assigned job functions.
  • Position requires problem solving, critical thinking, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of electrical equipment for generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
  • Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, in accordance with the NEC.
  • Locate and diagnose problems in the electrical system or equipment; compute load requirements and select appropriate wiring and equipment.
  • Work with voltages up to 13.2kV; maintain repair and maintenance records; operate testing instruments.

Work involves: installing or repairing any of a variety of industrial electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, chiller units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment, while maintaining repair and maintenance records. Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, in accordance with the NEC. Locating and diagnosing problems in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. Position will work with voltages up to 13.2kV to include maintenance/troubleshooting of switchgear and breakers. Perform switching medium voltage gear (5kV), in accordance with a switching plan. Perform installation of new systems (typically low voltage <600V).
