Job summary

Cogent Communications is recruiting a Senior Facilities Manager in Overland Park to maintain critical site facilities and Cogent Hubs infrastructure, including power, HVAC, BAS, fire and water systems. You will diagnose issues, manage vendors, and drive improvements for uptime and efficiency.

Preferred candidates have 10+ years in facility management, an Electrical Engineering degree, and a track record of coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of facility management experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot facility systems and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain critical site facilities and Cogent Hubs infrastructure including power, HVAC, BAS, fire and water systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure reliability and uptime of facilities.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce downtime and optimize energy use.
• Ensure compliance with safety, codes and regulatory requirements.

Compensation

[Starting / Initial] Base Salary Pay Range: $90K - $100K/yr. Specific offers within the listed pay ranges are determined by a variety of factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and business needs.

Required

• 10 + years of experience in facility management with a skillset of diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and technical issues and finding solutions to correct facility system problems

Preferred

• 5 + years of experience with project management/project implementation supporting less experienced engineers
• 10 + years working directly with vendors and reviewing vendor methods of procedures
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar

Physical Requirements

• Frequently remains in a sitting/stationary position during the workday
• Operates a computer and performs desk-based computer tasks continually, frequently viewing a computer screen
